Default LS460 drivers seat discomfort fixed. Before and After pics

I finally got the padding added to the drivers seat and it turned out well. I added these photos to the first thread I started but I wanted members to be aware that there are updated photos so they can see what the seat will look like before and after the work. I tried updating the title to the first thread but had no luck. Anyway here they are. Before vs After

Bottom line is that there is a way out of the discomfort that many LS drivers feel when driving their cars, and it didnt cost as much as many of us would think

Nice, I can see the difference. If I may ask, how much was it? I might get just the drivers seat done since thats the only one thats uncomfortable.

The guy charged me $110. I had to rent a car to get home but all in all it was less than $200 total. After driving the car last night and today I feel like the padding in the rear of the base is a little firm. I called the shop and the tech said he can easily remove the dense foam and do a softer foam with no problems. I will see if it softens up. If not I will drop her off in a couple of weeks to get the rear of the seat base softened

Does the extra padding affect the seat warmer/cooler?

To be honest I am not sure but if it did I would assume it's only the cooler, but I never felt like it worked very well and the pain from the seat was greater than the benefit of the cooled seats. I am feelin like the rear section of be base is amtad to stiff. I called the tech and he said he can easily remove the higher density padding and put in a softer foam. I have three weeks until my next Monday off so I will see if it softens up by then. I already have a tentative appointment to adjust he density

Sounds good. I might have to do some local shopping around and see what the locals are charging.

The TSIB is where I would start. If that doesn't work then we can go the other route. The cool thing is that there is an out. We do not have to deal with the lumpiness

the tech at the dealership swore to the service advisor that he wasnt going to do the seat TSIB again. I dont know if he meant doing the work again or having to tear it all apart to have to adjust anything. Anyhow, the guys at the upholstery shop don't seem phased and the fit of the panels at the base of the seat are much better than when it was done at Lexus.

After checking out the TSIB, it appears to cover MY's 2007-2009 LS460's only. I have a 2010 and have the same problem. Has the seat construction changed? Strangely, I had an LS430 and had the identical problem. I traded it on an Infiniti M35 and never had any discomfort from the driver's seat. The M35 was traded on an ES350, which also was very comfortable. I liked the design and feel of the LS460 so I test drove it and thought the driver's seat was comfortable. After my first trip driving it over a couple of hours, my butt and thigh started to hurt, just like in my LS430. I have sent an email to Customer Relations asking them for options. Wish me luck.
