Just wanted to update this thread since I had another member ask about my experience. The foam wore down very well over the first week and the seat is 200% better. I am so happy that I did it and they did an amazing job. Its been almost 18 months with no issues with the work, foam, or seat base. Great job and a great option for those of us with the seat discomfort issues and who may be a bit taller and heavier than the standard driver

Great info! I might drive out to AZ to have them fix my LS430's seat. It's been killing me ever since I bought it.

In the end, can you tell if the cooling comes through the new padding?

I was never able to feel it and I still dont. I havent tried the heater since I live in AZ.. In the end seat discomfort is the kind of thing that will drive one crazy or at least to dump the car . I would have rather to have decreased function in a feature that imho never worked than to be miserable driving the car. In my GS350 I barely felt the seat coolers even when the car was brand new.

Default Seat Comfort

OK. Thanks. I'm in Texas, and the cooling worked like a champ on our ES330, and was appreciated in the summer months. Just bought this LS460, I'm going to need to make the decision on whether it would be better to keep the cooling (works noticably) or risk adding more padding in either the car seat or my seat.

Once I decide, I will document for all.

Thanks!

I talked to Manny Jr today and he was really helpful. I have a 04 LS430 so he thinks my leather might be too stiff as well. I'm thinking of going out next week for him to take measurements of the seat to be reupholstered. He also asked if the leather was perforated. He said they will perforate it and there will be channels made for the cooling function to work. 350 quoted for new seat bottom leather and padding!

very cool. Im sure you will be happy with their work. In the end , for me, he only added padding for me. I never had leather replaced. In the end the work I had done was superior to anything that the idiots at Bell Lexus could do even with the Lexus detailed instructions. Many Jr did the work and until today I still see no signs that the base of the seat was disassembled . Great work !!

If you come out there is an Enterprise Rent A Car a mile away. You can rent a car for 20 bucks for the day and go to Happy Valley and the 17 freeway ( 4 miles away from shop) and hit the malls , theater, and great places to eat. It shouldnt be to hard to occupy yourself if you need to wait for 4-5 hours
