Alright guys here are the before and after photos. The tech did a great job. The seat is clearly more padded. The seat no longer creates any pressure points along the sides of my thighs. The rear of the seat base a little firmer than what it felt like before but its not uncomfortable just different. Plus with a few weeks or even months of driving the seat pad will wear a little bit . All in all the seat looks great and most of all......bone stock.

Before and after........

I dropped the car at 8:30 am and picked it up around 3:00 pm. The total cost was $110 plus $80 for the rental car. I took the day off of work . I didnt want to but it did feel nice to chill out , lay on the couch, and watch a couple of movies. All in all it was a good day and the work turned out well

Nice, my dad and I added memory foam to the bottom cushion to his 2004 LS430 a couple years back. It helps.

I feel like the rear of the base is a little firmer than I would like ( kinda nitpicking). I called the shop and they said they can easily replace the higher density foam with a slightly lower destiny foam and it should remedy the small issue. All in all the seat no longer creates pain along the sides of my thighs. It's just nice to know that we are not stuck. There is a solution for the drivers who are uncomfortable in the LS460s

I'm going to call the shop and see if they have memorey foam . I was reading some upholstery articles and threads and they always less is more. Whatever you think is sufficient, go 1 density level softer

I did this same mod in my GS it really helped following what was done in the post. I do not seem to have the issue in my LS, hope it stays that way. If not I will get the foam replaced but probable bring it to a pro, the mod was a PIA.

Does anyone know if TSB L-SB-0071-09 is applicable to cars which are under the Lexus Certified warranty?

Default Redesigned seats for 2013

The Lexus press release for the 2013 LS460 says "redesigned front seats minimize pressure peaks and increase support." By increase support I presume they mean firmer, when the seats were already too firm. I have a new 2013 LS460, and I find the seats to be too firm. (I find the back seats to be uncomfortable, too.) The seats are definitely less comfortable than those in my 2005 LS430. I'll try to get used to the seats, but I think I will eventually have to get them modified. You'd think that after 100+ years of building cars the manufacturers would have figured out how to build a comfortable seat, but I find that most manufacturers seats seem to be getting firmer whenever a new model comes out, in the name of "support." And the more expensive the car, the firmer the seats.
