Mine is a mercury metallic and had it on for 3 years. Still clear as the day it was put on. I got 3M clear bra installed so can't speak for other brands.

I was a little hesitant about doing it on my car when new, but I figured "what the heck, I can always peel it off if I dont like it". So I had the dealer have the specialists put it on before I took delivery.
Anyways, I have been very satisfied with it. Yes you can see the line, but it really isnt intrusive; and if you think it would bother you I agree with the suggestion to go full-hood...
I wish I had them do just above the front windshield along the leading edge for 3-4 inches before the sunroof. I had a rock come and make a dent which I bet would not be there if that spot had bra on it...
Here are some pictures - it is 4 years old now, and these pics are of my black car which is medium-dirty right now, according to my standards.

FULL HOOD!! Tell me how! Tell me how! I was abut to Clear Bra my 3rd Lexus because it really, really does help protect against chips. I don't mind the line, but would love to do the whole hood.

Default Clear Bra

I have had the clear bra installed on several Cars. The first was my 2004 ES330 (white) and it did show the line. It was hard to tell but well worth it. I also had it installed on my 2002 ML500 (dark blue), 2010 GL550 (dark silver)and my 2008 LS460L (verdigris). I called Lance Pugh and he comes out to your house or office and installs it. He provides a lifetime warranty. THe clear bra is only noticable at certain angles and has protected the front from a lot of road rash.

i've had clear bra's on two of my cars. one was my odyssey and that things got a lot of highway miles. the clear bra has protected it way better than i expected. i would suggest full fenders and full hood. can't go wrong.
