Default Bluetooth problems

Anyone have any problems with Bluetooth disconnecting from their phone in the middle of a conversation? I can't tell if the problem is with the phone or the Car. It works most of the time just fine, but sometimes when it disconnects, I can use the phone alone, but no Bluetooth. Tech says it's the phone, because it worked with his OK. I guess the best way is to get another phone to connect.

If you have to turn off the car, then it's probably the car.
If you have to switch off the phone then power it on, then it's probably the phone.

Another way to get to the cause of the issue is to get another phone and try to pair it when the problem with the first phone occurs. Then if it pairs and gets connected without problems, then the problem is from the first phone. If it doesn't, then it's your car.

Happy debugging!

I've never had this happen with any of my phones...

Hey neighbor (fellow Kentuckian)! I've not had any such problems; and use mine a lot -- a Sprint HTC Touch Pro and currently the HTC Touch Pro2. When I leave it connected for extended time I connect it with a 12v USB adapter and leave it in the console. Could the phone battery be low on power when it disconnects? My experience is that on a long trip the bluetooth connection will draw down the phone battery quickly if not connected to external power, but this is the same with all the bluetooth car kits I have. If you have another car with bluetooth try to reproduce the issue there to confirm a phone issue. I'm betting on that, so do let us know the final verdict. It might also be that the privacy button on the phone is being pressed inadvertently and disconnecting hands-free during the call. Is it in a case when this happens?
