Default 2010 Navigation update

I just got my 2010 Navigation update in and it came on a USB thumb drive. Does anyone know how to install it or could give suggestions?

If your car has a USB port in the center console, I would try plugging the thumb drive in to see what happens. If that doesn't work, just call the service center for advice.

OP has a 2007, not 2010. there is no usb in the center console. updating nav (hdd base) is not somethig you do at home.... the usb is just the key. you still need other equipment from dealership. search for some other threads of similar topic

OK, I took the nav update to the dealer and about an hour later they told me it was done but that Lexus has an update out for the HDD. Anyone have any experience with that? How much it costs and/or what it does?

CDDB update for music on the hard drive is free at any dealer if under warranty. It's just an update to the 'Gracenotes' music library to match names of songs on music albums so it's displayed on CD's that were copied to the HDD. Never found it very useful. Certainly not worth paying for since you can edit the names of albums and song track manually yourself

There is a TSIB: SB0067-09R1 DEC 09 Navigation System - Firmware Improvement

I don't know what it does, but I am requesting it to be done next week while they are working on the valve spring. I hope it also improve the way it handle music play back also.

if you mean the thing inside the center armrest, then it must be the aux. 07-09 doesn't have any usb connection, that's one of the complaints from owners that the car doesn't have usb/ipod integration. 2010 they put in the new feature

Does anyone have a figure for how much the NAV Update is?

What is the big difference?

The moon was taken out of the map since NASA killed the moon program, a few Starbucks', McDonald's and Taco Bell's are out & fewer are in, all Circuit Cities are out, and finally all Blockbuster's & Barnes & Noble's are marked to be swept in the next update

So yeah from 9.1 no huge difference I guess.

I would like to the the NAV update myself. This morning, the Concord Lexus service department called to let me know the update data on a flash drive costs $200. It takes one hour labor. The total update is $350. The connection must be behind the unit which is not readily accessible.
