Default is this happen to you?

every morning when I start my car and let it warm up a little bit then put it in D and drive it about 15-20 MPH, I felt hard jerk from the tranny shifting from first to second gear. as this happened, I looked at the RPM and it jump from 1500 to about 3200 and then back down to normal RPM. after that, the car drive great no more jerk from 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th gears . "I think they call this is a shift-flare.".
IMO,normally it shift in gear the RPM drop down not jump so high like that.
anyone has this issue?

my 07 has about 65000 miles on it and its shifting is as smooth as silk always. I have never experienced anything like what your describing. You can get other opinions, but I would have this looked at by the dealer

This happens to me when I don't give it enough time to warm up. It's very noticeable especially if the car was sitting in the garage for 8+ hours.

What I would suggest you to do is that you leave it to warm up for full 6 minutes before you put it in D and see if you can notice any difference. I believe you will.

One indication to look for as your car warms up is the rpm gauge. When you notice it fall down to 1200 - 1300, then you'll most likely not feel the strong jerk while shifting from 1st to 2nd gear.

Something like this happened to me after driving it for about 30 minutes. I was stopped at a stoplight on a hill. When I took off, the car thumped into gear. Hasn't really happened since, but I do get that jerking into gear initially. I definitely have not been letting it warm up 6 minutes...

Mine does that occasionally but till now I thought I was imagining things. Only once and when it just after it is started. Also mine does not jerk just seems to slip a little. I don't think mine jumps that many rpms. I just start and drive. No warmup. Just noticed it a couple of weeks ago.
