Default voice commands on '08-'09 vs 2010 model

I am doing research on the 460L and debating on buying '08-'09 vs. new 2010. I have already posted a question on the air suspension, but another key area for me is the voice command features on the '08-'09 5th generation system vs. the 6th generation on the 2010.

For those of you with the 5th gen system:
- How good are the voice commands in the 5th generation?
- Is it frustrating to use or easy to use?
- What are the pros and cons of the system other than not being able to manually enter info while driving?
- is the voice recognition fairly good or do you have to repeat your commands many times before the system recognizes them?

The same questions for the 6th generation system.

Thanks in advance for any help on this topic.

5th gen voice command, i tried but i gave up very soon. it just didn't work that well, not to the point that i was willing to continue. use wise it's ok, not hard to use, just a button, but to really use it you will find yourself having to press that button very often (one problem). and recognition isn't the best part of the system neither. our ls460l had the 5th gen, and that's what i have in my gs350 now as well. i remember one time i wanted to just show gas station, and boy, i think it took me 4 tries and by that time my screen was full of random icons already

in short, got myself the override and call it a day. i felt myself was finally in control again rather then at the mercy of the system

I have the latest version (in an RX). I was hoping it would be the kind of system that would train itself as time progressed, but not so. It seems to work fine (in a limited kind of way), when I'm by myself, however it seems bent on embarrassing me when others are in the car, throwing all kinds of wrong results until I just quit. Not the kind of voice command you want to show off...

I think over time, it is I that will have to adjust my speech and intonation to the point when it will recognize my rudimentary attempts.
