I have an 07 SWB with 60k miles on it. I drive only city and average about 18, plus or minus .5 miles and I drive it about 75% calm and easy and 25% aggressively depending on how many crazy drivers are around me... I would say your mileage is low, I have reached almost 30 just pure highway, with a full tank my gauge shows around 450 miles not 600, so I am guessing its averaging my driving and coming up with that. I also check my tires and run them at 38 psi consistently using Dunlops.

Manny, your mileage is so poor I suspect a fuel leak somewhere. Park your car in a clean area and run your engine in the same spot for about five minutes, and race the engine a few times as well. Then move the car and check the ground. If you don't see anything, take the engine shroud off and check that area while your engine is running.

Many years ago I had a similar experience with a Corvair. It turned out that a steel fuel line actually split and leaked gasoline. However, the gasoline leaked onto the engine and burned off rather than spill onto the ground. How I never had an engine fire I'll never know.

Yes the recall has been completed...I will try the steps you advised otherwise I will take the car into my local dealership for them to take a look at it.

I used to get around 21 city before I had my wheels put on. I drive mainly city as I take one street into work about 12 miles each way. I get between 16-17 city now. When I have driven on the HWY it looks like I got it to 21 but it was a short trip.

The drop in MPG was expected with the wheels.

Why would wheels drop your mpg? Are they really heavy? Or do they make your odometer think you drove fewer miles than you really did?

Well I'm assuming that 3 Piece heavy chrome rims would have some affect compared to the 18" stock alloys.

My GS400 dropped MPG too as well just not as bad.

I also drive up a 3 mile hill to get home everday so I'm sure that doesnt help.

My 09' LS swb is my wife daily beater and she drives like a grannie shopping grocery on weekend and I am the maintenance guy of her car. Well, last week I check her avg is around 21-22 mpg since last gas fill, so I guess I am still happy about it.

Btw, I use Eneos 0w20 grade, it helps in my opinion.

Default Heres proof

So filled on up on last Thursday...and it shows 203 miles driven and got about a quarter tank left...some on here were stating that I should be able to get close to 500 miles...I contacted my dealership and they stated there is not much they can do as if no warning light is on..there is no way to determine gas mileage because it depends on weather, driving style etc etc

Manny, you didn't have to prove it... we believe you

Did you check the air filter(s)? How heavy is your foot?

is it using the right oil weight? maybe go to 0w-20.
are the tires inflated properly?
are you doing only city driving? epa estimate is 16 for city, so you're within range for that.
did you check the vehicle service history at the Lexus dealer to see what it's problems were before you bought it???

this is my second LS and both have had similar consumption. 13 - 14 miles per gal. in the City and about 30 on the highway. I do however have a heavy foot.

Try resetting your ECU by disconnecting the battery and see what happens, start off with a full tank of gas then reset your trip. Drive like you always have and I’m thinking you will get better MPG, it worked on my LS430 so can’t hurt to give a try.
