Default 40,000 Mile Service

I just wanted to add some reference info to the forum. Had the 40,000 miles service performed today on my 07 LS460L in South Florida. Includes oil change, tire rotation, and all the other yadda yadda stuff pertinent to scheduled maintenance. Cost was $220 coverd by my points on the Lexus Pursuits Visa.

They also did the TSB work for wind noise. I never complained about it but they asked and did the work anyways. Not sure if I will notice any improvement but I'll be listening.....I thought the car was fine before.

Loaner was a nice ES but it made me appreciate the amazing LS even more.

Thanks for the info g26.

You're right, my last loaner was a loaded ES and when I got back into my LS I couldn't believe the difference. Any time I get bored with my LS I just drive my 93 Jeep Wrangler around for a couple of days...it'll make you appreciate the LS like the day it was new!

Can you tell us what TSB work was done for wind noise?

Invoice says:

"Updated as per TSB, Replaced Mouldings as per TSB 87/50."

Parts listed include two mouldings (windshield), 2 windshield clips, 8 roof drip "S" clips, 2 rivets, 1 packet (85221-50140) that includes an Arm, FR Wiper, and LH. (Not sure what the abbreviations stand for).

I think there are plenty of details on this forum about this TSB -- search for wind noise TSB and I'm sure it will pop up.

BTW, very windy day here in South FLA... good day for a long test drive!!

Thanks for the feed back. I don't recognize the number you cited but it sounds like you got TSIB L-SB-0033-09 which is only supposed to be implemented for "complaining" customers. Must have been a slow day at your dealership. Don't feel bad about not getting an improvement - I have never seen an unequivocal report of improvement from this TSIB. Perhaps they recognized that your car has a problem and they were trying to help.
