Default TSIB For Front Seat Padding

Does anyone have or know what the TSIB number is for adding padding to the drivers front seat? I believe there is one, but I can not find it in this forum. The dealer seemed confused with my request to fix the firm seat bottom.

Funny how their own technical service bulletins are a complete mystery to them, until you walk in with them. I've found many service departments just don't take the initiative to browse the Internet like many here do. Guess they go home at night and distance themselves far from anything remotely related to their work. Little wonder I do "all" my own servicing...

I notice in the TSB it says that customers say the cushions are too hard? What did your seat feel like when you decided to have it replaced?

I would think they would be too soft, which would make more sense for padding.. but maybe the new pad is a different design?

After 2,200 miles in my 2010 I am finding the drivers seat to be an issue and will be bringing it in next week. It seems to be the left/rear side of the bottom cushion where I am finding it to be the problem. i will let you know what the dealer says about mine.

Just got my car back from having the cushions replaced. Took 2 days. Definitely more padding and for now got rid of that "crease" in both seats. will know how much it makes a difference on the next long drive.

On another note, I bought the car used back in August and noticed a very slight smell... I guess I got used to it. Anyway, when the took out the passenger seat, a dead mouse was discovered!

Even rodents have good taste!

Wow, well at least the rodent didn't eat up anything vital (hopefully). I had a friend whose Lincoln Continental was immobilized, turned out some rats had decided to set up residence in the engine bay, chewing their way in!

Good to hear that the padding is working for you guys.

If your car is still under warranty, have them get an authorization directly from Lexus. TSBs are fine, but my dealer tells me that they often fall back on the warranty as it is a catch-all for them with discrepancies not covered by TSBs...

Does anyone know if this applies to the 2007 460L as well as the 460? The TSB is unclear, with the 460 and 600H mentioned under the covered vehicles, but the 460/460L is referenced in the instructions.

To answer my own question:

I took my LS460L to Park Place Grapevine and asked about the seat TSB. The service writer checked and my seat bottoms are in the process of being updated / replaced.

I have an early 2007 so it's having the full boat fix installed.

so other than uncomfortable, what is the symptom specifically? its too hard, too soft, you can feel the internal material?

for the fix what are they replacing, the bottom shell or padding or both?

Is the crease in the middle of the seat, that pops up indicative of a potential problem?

Mine seem to be fine, but then I dont have a point of reference to know what not fine is :-)
