I've heard the V-1 doesn't get the usual range compared to the usual window glass mounting. Have you had a chance to compare them?

When I wired my V1 power I found a wire on a plug up behind the overhead console leaving me with just a two foot run to the windshield location.
Seems like there was a 10 or 12 conductor plug and I found one conductor to go hot with ignition switch on.
DON'T use any metal you find to be a ground return. I did that and the V1 was intermittent. Further inspection revealed the metal not to be tack welded to the overhead roof as I had assumed. It was affixed with an adhesive...a very non-conductive adhesive, so I found another wire on that same plug that was a solid ground and I tapped onto that.

I remember writing up the procedure on this forum a few years ago, but can't find it on here now...sorry.
