I had the cushions replaced in my 07.

Only on long trips did my rear get sore but after having the new seat bottoms replaced everything is fine now even though there is no noticeable difference in the feel or support of them.

does anyone else have a seam in the middle of their seats? it pokes upward as if the leather is stretched in on both sides. I see it mostly on the passenger side, but its also on the driver side. I took mine in today to get new rims and the dealer said that that was very typical and I actually saw it on other LS460s with over 40k miles. Weird.. I showed them the TSB for this and they said they could replace them if they were uncomfortable, but they would look like this again. I was curious if anyone else has had this issue.

Sounds like a wedgie crease.

Yup. The seat itself feels fine to me.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I have the same thing on both sides and my car only had 11k! Will be taking it in for the TSB next week

A little disappointed in the quality of the seats

The 2007 LWB I just purchased never had this TSB performed. It's funny that I have been noticing this discomfort on the driver right side bolster. Does anyone know how much this repair would cost at a dealer?

I have the same problem in my 2007. I don't think TSBs are covered once the original warranty runs out. The cushion should be about $150-$200 and the installation about an hour or two. On some models, the leather cover had to be replaced too, on others just the cushion. Anybody know why this is the case? I'm thinking of having this done to mine but I'm considering buying the cushion from Sewell and having an auto upholstery shop swap it out as the dealer will undoubtedly charge an arm and a leg!

The LS 430 seats are more comfortable and buttery soft. The older LS 460 seats are firmer and not as comfortable as the LS 430.

The seat base going flat is a known problem ..its just a bad design . Dealership replaced mine at 5 yrs old and still was terrible so I had an aftermarket trimmer add more foam ...its very comfortable now ...and I don't have a fat *** ! lol

After owning the 430 for 8 years, I'd say the 460 seats are easily just as comfortable. You have to take Internet postings with a grain of salt - I remember multiple people complaining about the 430's seats as well.

My '07 definitely has less comfortable seats than my LS430.

that being said, i do have a fat *** and would prefer more padding.

My 2008 IS250 seats are wonderfully comfortable. No excuse for the LS460 seats to be hard and uncomfortable and give us "wedgies"! I suspect the cushions were multi-sourced and some flattened more than others. Still don't know why some required the leather cushion cover to be replaced also but not others.

Unhappy uncomfortable drivers seat

okay, I know at 221k on a 2009, the seats are not going to be perfect,
but now I start feeling it after about 15 min

I found the tsb:
L-SB-0071-09

but it says:
APPLICABLE WARRANTY • This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.

So, the moral of the story is stay aware of tsb's while they are still free

All hail the inventor of the seat cushion
