Default New to the Club ..a few questions..

Acquired a 2007 SWB yesterday to replace my M3 ... Did a bit of research on this forum and other places before the decision was made.. Now that I have it , 2 quick questions ( and I did use the extra hour last night to scour past postings ..) .
Lexus Link (or whatever they're calling it) ... would they charge the 900.00 to (re)activate the service ?? Not essential , but nice to have if the price is right for emergency stuff ...How is the car w/ periods of inactivity in terms of battery drain?? Given my schedule and circumstances, there could be an interval where it sits (indoors) for 2 to 3 weeks . I won't be able to use a battery tender.. I know some vehicles have a higher 'resting requirement' than others ..

Thanks ..Off for some more 'I'm no longer driving a supersonic go-kart' adjustment to my muscular and gluteal senses ...

Thanks .. The link was easier than I thought..just press the darn button..someone came on and explained the plans and rates .. The safety is 198/ year , and no 'reactivation fee' ..
That's pretty close to my scenario, and I don't need to drive to the office, so I can keep it in the garage when we get heavy snow, ice, etc ..

My car has sat for over a month on several occasions. The battery had plenty of power to easily start the car.

I once got stuck 1/2 out of my garage and needed to call for assistance.

At the time, I had both AAA and Lexus Link.

I thought for a bit and decided to use Lexus Link to call for help, since I'd never done so.

They sent out AAA!

Oh, did someone ask how did I get stuck 1/2 out of my garage? This was in my LS430, it was winter, and the driveway was pure ice. I backed 1/2 out and the car lost traction and started sliding to the right. I stopped since I didn't want to collide with the side of the garage!

True, but without Lexus Link, you're car won't call AAA or the police automatically if you're unconscious due to an accident.

So cancel your AAA membership, no sense paying them.

All of these services use existing infrastructure. You can't expect Lexus, Mercedes, BMW, Infiniti, et al to maintain their own private fleet of tow trucks across the country.

Default AAA vs Lexus Roadside

AAA is based on the subscriber, not the automobile (as is Lexus Roadside). With AAA, you are covered no matter whose car you are riding in.

Does anyone use their Lexus Link for anything? I've hit my button twice trying to open the garage door. Turns out you're gonna talk to someone after you hit that button...no way to cancel that I've found. Real friendly folks every time.

They probably have your picture on a dart board in the office!

LOL - probably! The second time I did it I thought about jumping out of the car and leaving them hanging but I didn't know if they would send an ambulance.
