First, I have never own a LS b4. I've own many GSs. Schedule to test drive the ls tonite. Just want some advice from you ls460 owners.
The car is 2007 ls460 LWB mercury silver/black. 23k mi. CPO vehicle.
Dealer list price $61,000.
How much should it be?

$61K is kinda overpriced.

In early July I saw a 2007 fully equipped LS460L with 11K miles on it for $53K.

I got my fully equipped 2008 LS460 (the short wheelbase) with about 10K miles on it for about $54K.

Both of the above cars qualify to be CPO but currently aren't.

This should give you an idea about the market.

Good luck!

I have a 2007 LWB with every option except the executive seating package. The MSRP was $86K. I have the option to buy it at the end of my lease for $47K, which will be on January 15th. I currently have 39,000 miles on it, so I'm guessing it will have around 43,000 by then. After looking around a bit and talking to a few dealers, I concluded that the car is not worth $47K, based on what a new 2009 could be purchased for, and what it would likely be worth in 3 years. So, I'm thinking that if my car is not worth purchasing at $47K, the one you are looking at sounds quite high.

Keep in mind that a 2009 can be purchased at dealer invoice today, so three years from now, it will likely be worth about 50% of that price. The dealer told me the residual after three years on a 2009 car purchase this month would only be 41% of MSRP because it will be at the end of the model run by then.

If anyone thinks my car is worth $47K and is interested in buying it out at the end of my lease, feel free to PM me. Otherwise, I'm planning on handing the keys back to the dealer and getting something else, still to be determined.

Thanks so much guys. I went to the lex dealer yesterday nite and the manager took the car home for the day. Disappointed, I test drove the 07 ls460 SWB just to have the feel for it. It drove very nice but options very limited. Today, I just saw one White/cashmere 2007 ls460L listed for 52,995 w/ 22k mi. planning test driving the car during lunch time. I'll keep you guys posted.
What do you guys think of the price? Feedback pls.

But you can't find an 07 ls460L for under $50k. What's going on? So the dealer jack up the price on the returned released vehicle then sell it.

Go to Edmunds, Kelley or NADA to find out the wholesale price of the car and then negotiate UP from there, not down from the dealer's asking price.

Remember that the $47K price represents the residual on the lease, which is likely very close to the dealer trade in value in my specific situation. So if a dealer might buy my car for $47K, and then add a CPO extended warranty, new brake pads, and minor maintenance to freshen it up, they would likely want to make close to $60K to make it worth their while to take on the risk of buying the car in the first place. You are always negotiating some number that is in between what a dealer can buy the car for and their theoretical retail price.

As for the listings in autotrader.com and other web sites, I don't think they are realistic. I listed my 2004 LS430 a few years ago for $45K in autotrader, but ultimately sold it for $38K, and that was the only offer I ever got, after being on the market for over 2 months. People can ask anything they want, but I don't think there are that many buyers paying the web site ask prices in this economy.

I looked for about 18 months for a 460L before I bought mine. The prices leveled off in about Dec-Jan and haven't gone down much since. 61K is a little high...the 53K one is more inline with what they are going for.

Thanks so much guys and gals. I test drove the white/alasbaster 2007 ls460L yesterday at the MB dealer. It listed for $53k which was $54,995 40 days ago. The 460L has a few more options that the regular ls460 has. The L has backseat recliner and there's so much room It has three modes comfort, normal and sport. Electronic Adjustable backseat headrests. Felt a lot bigger than my gs430. However, the ride wasn't stable when I took it on the freeway. This car has 19" wheels on it and I think they're aftermarket wheels. Sell guy told me that the couple brought it in and traded for the 2010 S class. They don't have the original wheels.
Thanks KILLERGS4 for the link "http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LEXUS...=p4506.c0.m245".
This car is the vehicle that was in the MB dealer located in North Houston, TX. I told the sell guy that the car didn't feel right and he told me that he'd talk to the manager and see if they can get the original wheels on it. I should be back Friday and check it out again.

So far, here's the deal:
2007 ls 460L Ibis White/alabaster 22k mi. $52,995.

So what do you guys think of the deal???
