Default Help in Inside Doors lockers

Hi folks,

I just bought my ls460 last Sunday.

I notice that when you pull the deriver door handle from inside to open the door and the door is locked, the door will automatically unlock and you can open it. This is happening only in the driver door!!! What about the others door?? Do I need to unlock the doors every time so other doors will be unlocked?

Please help

P.S : I have ls460 2007 model ... Middle east specs.

Welcome to CL Brother,

Regarding the configuaration it is possible to customize the settings at your dealer using the Portable Computer.

BTW the settings differ depending whether ure using the smart card/key.

When the transmission is "not in Park", the front door locks can be opened by pulling the inside handle even if the lock buttons are in the lock position. However, the rear door locks must be unlocked manually using the lock buttons or the lock/unlock switch.

The LPS (Lexus Personalized Settings) Default setting for Door Locks offers a number of on/off configurations for the following:

1. Speed-detecting automatic door lock function
2. Opening driver's door unlock all doors
3. Shifting gears to P unlocks all doors
4. Shifting gears to position other than P locks all doors
5. Unlocking using a key

If you transport children frequently, some of these options may be useful, in addition to setting the rear door child-protector lock, located of the door panel. Further, some of these LPS settings can be set by the driver using the procedures detailed in your Owner's Manual.

Hi Folks,

Thx for the reply.

I am using a remote key.

My concern is only for the front doors. I have no problem with the driver door as it is unlocked whenever I pull the door handle. The problem is with the passenger front door. I have tried to shift the transmutation to everything (P, N) but it’s the same, the passenger door will not be unlocked till I unlock the door manually.

I have gone through the owner manual and all what it is explaining is

1. Speed-detecting automatic door lock function
2. Opening driver's door unlock all doors
3. Shifting gears to P unlocks all doors
4. Shifting gears to position other than P locks all doors
5. Unlocking using a key

I want the passenger front door to be the same as the driver door which can be unlocked whenever the door handle is pulled in all gears conditions (P or N).

Anybody have similar model? Please let me know.

Like others have said, the best bet is to get your dealer to look at the Lexus Personalized Settings on your car, however is it so hard to simply have the passenger press the 'unlock' button? Or you could unlock the doors from the driver's side controls. However perhaps the LPS can be adjusted so that it is the same function on the front passenger door as the driver door.

I drop my wife off every morning with my transmission still in drive, and she merely pulls the door handle - the door unlocks itself without pressing either unlock button on her door. The rear seat is another matter - either the passenger must physically release the lock prior to pulling the handle, or I unlock the door from my front door's switch.

That list I posted is the LPS door lock options.

Take your car in to your dealer. They can program your preferences.

Make sure you read through all the LPS settings and decide what you want before you take it to the dealer. Generally the dealer will only set them once for free.

Thx Folks for your reply,

After reading every single page in the manual, I went to the dealer today and asked about this setting.

The answer from the dealer was that this thing can only happen in the driver door which I doubt.

Burnaby,

What model your Lexus? Ls 460?

UAE,

Is this happing for you? I guess you have ls 460.
