TPMS and 22 inch wheels
I have 22" rims on my LS460L and the other day the TPMS warning light came on, I took the car to the dealer the checked it and told me the right front TPMS sensor was damaged, I had to take the car to a rim shop as the dealer was unable to remove the tire from the rim. when the tire was removed the sensor was smashed into several pieces. the guys at the tire shop said i might run into this problem frequentlly because the TPMS sensor sticks into the tire about an inch, which is about the actual thickness of a 245/30/22 tire. they recommend that I change the sensors to the type that curves with the inside of the rim, hence, not sticking out so much into the tire. What i would like to know is there any such sensor for Lexus?

no, there is no such thing from lexus, they only have one type of sensors.
now the real problem is your wheel provider/install. they have no idea what they are doing... i know exactly your problem, they can NOT install the sensors this way... basically what happens is the wheels are not TPS compatable, coz' the hole for valve stem is now perpendicular to the surface of the barrel, not like factor (kind of stick to the surface of the wheel).
a TPS compatible wheel will either have the hardware to help mount the sensors 90 degrees so it lays flat on the barrel, rather than sticking upright, or the wheels have a different barrel design so the sensor lays flat by default
for example, one of the vendors here on CL might have something that will help you with the issue

but personally? if a wheel shop doesn't even know details about these stuff, i would be a bit skeptical about them (considering i am not a wheel expert already)
