Quietest car trying to make me go deaf
Driving my LS600hL today, and all of a sudden, a repetitive clicking/beeping sound kept coming out of all the speakers. Imagine 19 speakers worth of deafening clicking/beeping at the same time. Turning off the car and/or stereo did nothing.
I drove, getting a migraine, to the dealership who listened for about 10 seconds, and the service manager said it's the amp which needs to be replaced. Fascinating that he immediately knew the diagnosis. Must have occurred before with LS460 and Levinson stereo.
Also, as I assumed, mine will be the first LS600hL they have worked on. In fact, we wasted about 20 minutes getting the computer to accept the fact that the car was an LS600hL.
Anyone heard of this before?

Just my luck, 20 miles away, and during rush hour (which really isn't that much better than SoCal, unfortunately.)
It wasn't incredibly loud on an amplitude / dB basis, but ranked quite high on the subjective "nails on the chalkboard" meter.

Oh dear, sorry to 'hear' that happened...hopefully it will be fixed soon.
Yes, this was reported before on CL, on some LS 460s and an LS 600h in Lithuania...both having to do with the ML amplifier, however the sound was 'clicking' or similar

Next time just remove the fuse for the radio.

There was a news report last year or so about improper installation of ES 350 floor mats causing the pedal to get stuck at highway speeds; in one case a lady was stuck going 70+ mph on the highway; IIRC it was recommended holding the "Start/Stop" button for a long while until the engine turned off for emergency stop. This was an extreme, last resort action.

Uh, wrong Forum Mike...

I noticed that when listening to a weak AM station (I'm so ashamed), and pressing the brake pedal I get a 'digital/whining' sound in the speakers.
No the grievance committee in the next seat whines 'I want to go to Florida', but this is different.

Pole Position
Happened to me on my SC430 a few years back. Plus, sometimes when I turned the radio on, there wouldn't be any sound then all of a sudden it will blast you at full volume. Almost caused a heart attack...LOL

What's with that? Cheap AM receiver in the ML tuner?
