Default ls460 or ls460l

I have the 08 ls460l touring black& cashmere and its a beast. my question is what wheel base looks the best to you?I like the long wheel base the short wheel base does nothing for me.it dont show the full effect of the car and i love the 19in wheels. what do you say?

I keep going back and forth, in the end I think the color makes a big difference...it's true that the added length shows a sleeker effect, however the standard wheelbase is quite fetching as well...I also think that the LWB model benefits greatly from the larger wheels...here in the US the Touring pkg wheels are only on the LWB and I think they are best suited there, however I think the Telios wheels look good on either SWB or LWB. For some colors, such as Verdigris Mica, I've only seen the LWB version and it looks fantastic in it.

This topic has already been discussed at length in a previous thread. I personally think both cars look great. It is all personal preference.

Enjoy your new car

I can't reallly tell the difference unless they are side by side, I only got the LWB because of the leg room.

I agree 100%, although the LS460 SWB is not bad either.
You should see the new S-class in SWB available in Europe & Asia & for the S450 in Canada, don't like it . . .

I can tell if it's at the right angle(s). The key is the length of the rear door & how the top rim of the rear window slopes down ...

yup, rear door is the key. i am surprising how good my wife is in telling between the two -- considering how hard it's for her to tell between c, e, and s class

Truth be known, this is actually a silly question, and it's already been asked. It's like asking people if they like chocolate or vanilla. It's all personal preference and there's really no right answer.

I bought the SWB because I WANTED the SWB. I don't like the way the LWB version looks. To me, it looks less athletic than the SWB. I don't know...pudgy maybe? To me, the SWB looks more aggressive. Less portly if you will. Just my opinion.

I don't guess it should surprise you if I like the SWB better since that's what I bought. And, it shouldn't surprise anyone that the owners of the LWB like that version better. After all, that's what they bought. If you can afford one, you can afford the other. If not, you're looking at the wrong automobile.

In the end, pick the one YOU like. What other people think does not matter.

Looks aside - and for some it's all about looks - preference takes a front seat on this question. I could have easily gone for the LWB, but it just wasn't me. The LWB just benefits the rear seat occupants, and in my life anyway those seats are hardly worn. For the first few months, yes the rear seat was often used to "show off" the car. Since then, over the 40,000 + kilometres that I've put on it, the rear compartment is mostly used as a supplement to the sometimes minimal trunk space. So I'm quite content with my original choice...
