United Radio gets good feedback and reviews. Only 325 dollars to repair ML amps and it's usually just a one day turnaround.

MY AMP went out on my 2009 LS-460 while still under Factory Warranty. It messes up your NAV and all audio. Gave me a loaner car and kept mine for about a week so they could get a new amp. It lasted about 3 weeks and went out again. They finally traced some wires and found a short. Those amp are $1,700 bucks. EXTENDED WARRANTY was bought.

Glad you fixed your "Clicking" noise. Luckily I had a Lexus Dealer nearby and they gave me a Lexus Loaner.

If only it was still $325 to repair our ML amps, that was UA price 2-3 yrs ago. The new price is $700 with same day turnaround depending on workload, It would have been nice to pay $325 but $700 is better than what a refurb or new one cost. Yes the pink fuse under the passenger footwell will kill the chirp another way is just to remove the amp, it has to come out anyway so that's the route I took. More info on the ML amp is in the FAQ sticky.

I stand corrected. Still, 700 is a bargain in comparison to the alternatives.

Default Annoying Clicking Noise Coming From Speakers

I was driving home 4/25/2015 and the music stopped and a constant clicking noise started coming from the speakers. The volume wouldn't turn it down and no music will play. The only thing that will stop the sound is turning the engine off. I found a post on this forum with instructions to remove the fuse until I can take it to the Lexus Dealer.
My LS 460 is a pre-owned 2007 just purchased in Jan 2015 without a warranty. From the looks of it, I'm screwed with a nice bill over $1,000. I've never purchase a warranty for a Toyota/Lexus vehicle because I've never had any major problems. Thank goodness I have money saved as my warranty.

I'll update you guys after I take it in this week of 27 April 2015.

When mine did that it was my amplifer. It was under Warranty and I think it was $1,700 bucks. Good luck. There are others on here that may know a cheaper fix.

Wanted to add something to this thread in relation to the amp issue.

I recently purchased my 07 460L at the end of January, 2015. While researching the vehicle via MyLexus, I saw that the amp was replaced in Nov. 2014. I called the dealership who replaced the amp and the Service manager told me that the amp is under warranty for one year, and it holds true for me, even though I wasn't the owner of the vehicle when the part was replaced. So if my ML amp wishes to malfunction, ( I hope it never does), but if it does, hopefully it'll occur within the next 7 months!

I took my 2007 Lexus LS 460 to the Lexus service department Today 4/27/2015. They pretty much said the same thing everyone else on this thread said. Just saved me the time of removing my own fuse to stop the noise. I ordered the amp and paid $725. When it comes in, I'll pay the labor which will be a grand total for labor and parts: $930. I don't have a warranty but I do have a maintenance and repair fund for my cars. They changed the batteries in my remotes for free, pulled the fuse to the amp, washed the car for me, and everyone at Nalley Lexus in Smyrna, GA was super nice. They also had the best tasting free coffee I've had. LOL The next time I spend this much money on my car, I hope it's for a major tuneup or other maintenance. I'm happy and shocked at the same time. LOL Thanks guys for your help. Have a great day.

Good for you on the warranty. I turned it down as I always do on Lexus and Toyota's, unless I buy them new. Which I don't do that either. They are still new to me with over 100,000 miles on them.

You can cut the middle man out (Lexus) on this repair because Lexus gets all refurbished ML amps and Nav head units from United Radio. UR is ML's authorized repair service center, you will save money vs going through the dealer. Last UR has a same day repair turnaround once the they receive and will ship back out so not a lot of down time. More info can be found on this in the FAQ sticky at the top of the forum.

For the record, the refurbished units are significantly more resilient than the OEM versions. I, for some reason, only had a three month warranty on my refurb unit from Lexus of Edmonton, and I was 100% sure to test the highest of its limits within just the first week of installing it.
Get it replaced and worry no more!

Default Joe at United Radio told me ....

In july 2013 I got the same chirping noise ....shipped it to United Radio from Stavanger, Norway 08.07.2013 12:51

Got an e-mail from United Radio on Wednsday 24-07-13 at 18.00 that they had received the amp and that it would be repaired the following day....

The next day, Thursday 25-07-13 at 1800, Joe at United Radio called me to get my credit card details.....and told mew that this chirping noice would not re-appear with the repaired amp and that they have installed a modified board in it....and gave me a 1 year guarantee...and that the amp would be shipped out to me the same day with UPS.......

I had the amp delivered on my doorstep Tuesday the 29. at 12.10 . .....VERY happy with service provided !!!!

.....and it has been working perfectly after I installed again the same day I received it ...

My cost: $ 700 for the repair + $ 66 in shipping..

I know this is an old thread but I dare write this for those who suffer and try to fix it inexpensively as a DIY job.

Recently a friend of mine mentioned about Mark Levinson's amplifier and I posted this to the Clublexus LS430 forum. According to him, the popping/cracking/static/clicking noise is mostly caused by the oscillation of the voltage booster at the power supply block. All you need to do is just to replace worn electrolytic capacitors used there.
