Default Anyone getting even close to $2K over invoice for an 08 LS460L?

I know I may be trying to get too good of a deal..

But I live in Southern California and there are like 7 Lexus dealerships within driving distance. 10 or 12 if I pushed it a little.

So far I've gotten around $4K over invoice, and one around $3500 over.

Just wondering if anyone out there has been able to get one out the door around $2K over invoice?

Thanks!
(its just a matter of time!)

I've called about 4 or 5 of them so far.

1 laughed at me and said I'd never get close to $2K over invoice ..I told him time is one my side and I'll sit back and wait until I do...d-head

I think whats happening right now is that the 08 460 L IS in short supply..especially the black on black, which is what I want. So..I don't know how it works...do they release another "batch" from the factory?

Just trying to figure out the difference from a few months ago to now..after the holidays..you'd think these guys would want to sell a car...

I"m seriously telling them..give me close to 2K over invoice and we'll do a deal today.

I've been working on a few dealers around Charlotte. I told them very firm I'm only going to pay 2k over invoice and to let me know when they need to sell a car.

I was in blockbuster the other day and I heard this guy say that all the dealerships are really hurting this year due to poor sales. Be sure to play the economy in your favor.

oh man, blk/blk ls460l? the 79k or the 86k car? the 86k is even more rare. have you given peter of lexus of glendale a call? (818) 535-0094. maybe you can see what prices he has

from what i see, lwb is indeed still in shortage. i have no idea why lexus is not producing more. and also the fact that 600hl are taking more lwb chassis that don't help

Hey Rominl, yeah I did call Peter at Glendale after reading all of the comments on here. He said he'd call me back in 10 so he could look for a car in his system and listening to my specs...and I never heard from him. It was late in the evening..he may have lost my number, who knows...

And it's the 79K car..well...we say 79K, but any dealer will tell you the MSRP on a black/black 08 460L with 2 packages - Touring and Mark Levinson, is AROUND 80,630.

I just got one dealer to agree to 2K over invoice, which would put the sale price of my car around $72,637.

What do you think of that based on the specs above? Not bad...

Thanks guys! lots of good comments, appreciate your time.

I've called about 4 or 5 of them so far.

When you really want to drive a good deal, nothing beats face to face negotiations. However, it sounds like you are all set!

There is another active thread on this forum that will answer your question. $2500 over invoice is fairly common in some areas.

I bought mine at crown in ontario I just started calling around 5 days before the end of the month talking to the fleet manager and he called me 20 times the last two days of the month saying what do I Have to do to get you into the car I said sell it you 75k and he laughed at me (Silver/Black 86k and change car) I said thanks and good by. He kept calling back the next day ( I droped his calls like 12 or 13 times) when I finally answered he said can you be down here before we close tonight and I'll sell it to you for that. I showed up around 2pm on the last day and of course they tryed to up the price I started walking out and they followed and said OK. The key is you need to be prepared to walk and leave, they well call you because no cars are selling that well right now.

Update after a couple days of phone calls..

Lots of dealers sticking at $3K over invoice...must be short supply. May wait it out.
