DST auto adjust?

Nope, nor for my father (also has an LS460). I suspect the car doesn't know that the date for rolling the clocks back was changed from the end of October until the beginning of November.

I had to go to the screen and press the Daylight savings button to off manually. In this case I feel that it is a good thing that it did NOT change on its own since it may have been programmed to the wrong date compared to the recent changes.

Nope. And I don't think it has anything to do with the change in date. Otherwise it would have set itself back a week ago Sunday.
That's it! I'm bringing the car back to the dealer tomorrow and demanding my money back!

DST set manually. Looks like the GPS synchronization is limited to the minute, not the hour.
Makes sense, in a way that doesn't affect me. I can live with that.
Computers are obviously smarter than cars...

its never automatic.
when i first got my RX, i kept the Daylight savings time on "on" cause i thought that meant it would do it automatically. but its just on and off to make the hourly changes.

The hour is set manually, the GPS picks up GMT, and uses only the minute and seconds to auto set the time. How would it know if you lived in an area like Arizona, for example, where DST is not observed. The car does not need to be that aware...

You are correct. The issue, however, is that the menu makes appear to us end users that the clock understands to automatically adjust for clock changes (DST on and off). They need to change the wording so that it's better understood. My father's dealer in Florida INSISTS that the clock will automatically change for DST (on and off). I told my dad that it wouldn't and it did not. His comment was that in the future he'd bet on me versus his dealer.

You mean in the past your own dad used to bet against you?!

Generally not, but in this case he expected the time to change as the dealer said but I doubted it and was right.

I was just joking with you Daryl.
You would think the dealer/salesmen would know the car best, but as we've discussed here before, they are often the greatest source of misinformation.
