Question Touch up or Replace small nick on bumper

Hi guys.. I got my LS460L back at the end of Dec and during delivery there was a scratch/nick on the back bumper that was noted and to be fixed. I finally have time to get it done and setup an appt. After a day of the car sitting at the dealership they call to tell me that the painttouch up guy will not be in this week but will be next.. now my question is.. this nick is a pretty good gash (you can feel it) where i dont think touchpaint should be used.. because it looks like its needs to be buffed out or whatever the correct term is.. am i right to say that touchup paint shouldnt be the fix for my issue?

thanks in advance guys

A simple touch-up won't do it. A similar thing happened to me when I purchased my first SC430. The dealer's paint/touch-up contractor filled-in a small gash that was along the driver's side of the roof, and then painted and buffed it to the point that it looked like new. This is what should be done for/to your car. If all they want to do is touch-up painting, you should inform the general manager, as you have done here, that this was a defect that you alerted to his sales staff upon delivery of the car and that if they cannot complete the repair to your satisfaction, you will take your car to a body shop and have them bill the dealership.

Good luck!

Luckily it was done by them and you can insist it be done right.

Do not settle for anything less then perfect. Even if you have to wait a week or two.
