Just curious about what other people are paying.

I see on this forum, that people are saying 61k car or a 72k car. That may be the base price but Lexus is not selling any base cars.

I got the "L" with the backseat upgrade, the ML 19 speaker etc. I think I got just about everything but the exec package and the dynamic cruise control. The car's msrp was 81,076.00. Then there was some etras I added and that always present sales tax and I was up to 92k.

Anyone else care to post their prices? I keep seeing these low amounts and wonder what the hell I got that everyone else did not.

Let me say, I would probably have paid more. This care is awesome. I have had it over a month and still get goose bumps when I see it.

MSRP of my car was also $81,076 and that is what I paid.

here in the southern area the std wheelbase car is being built 3 ways:

cp, pa, z1 $63732

cp, pa, nl, z1 $69377

cp, pa, np, mz, pp, z1 $71372

I don't intend to even consider buying one until I can get one for about 1000 over invoice, if not less. The spread between invoice and MSRP on these cars is ridiculously huge - and of course even at invoice the dealer still makes kick backs and bonuses on the sales.

If they never come down that low in price, then I guess I'll never be getting one...

I'm paying about $1220/month for a 48 month lease for a LS460 L UL. Think price was ~$77K after discounts.

77k was the purchase price? What was your money factor and buyout price at the end?

You're paying 58.5 grand for that car over the course of 4 years meaning they're saying that car will only be worth 18.5k after 4 years, plus whatever your money factor was which still couldn't add up to more than 30 grand. Man, I'll buy that after 4 years for 30 grand!!

I don't remember what the Money Factor was, but I'm paying $1460/mn for a 3 year lease with 12000 miles including taxes. MSRP was $81,076. Residual values i believe is 57%. This was the best price I could find.
BTW, $0 down.

You obviously earn your money the hard way. I too have no burning desire to drive a 460 at such rates. If and when things calm down, I'll buy.

It's kind of like Minis. When dealers first started selling them, they were in very short supply, and dealers bled anyone dry who wanted one. The "above retail" nonsense that dealers were spreading around was amusing to watch, and few of the dealers were controlling their greedy impulses. A year later, inventory met up with demand, and prices dropped. No more above retail selling, and deals were the rule of the day for any dealer who wanted to move inventory.

Realize that there are quite a few car dealers, salesmen and other car insiders on this board who spend a great deal of time "fanning the flames" of how much you need one of these cars right now. Take everything you read here with a grain of salt.

P.S. I remember when I was shopping for a 430. My local dealer swore that they were selling every 430 they received from Lexus within weeks of arrival at full retail. Demand was incredible he stated, and that I should snap up the one that I just test drove before it sold out from under me. The saleman then offered me a $2000 discount. He started to write up the sales contract until I asked him why he'd bother with a discount if every car was selling at retail within weeks. Why would he lose $2000 when he could earn it back in a week? The tap dancing that resulted was worth the price of admission. :-)

I think you are a bit wrong. I too earn my money the hard way and try not to waste it on BS. Of course I would've liked to have paid 10K less for the car but as you can see it's impossible these days. I needed a car now and not a year from now. I don't think anyone on this forum is 'fanning the flames' like you stated in your post. It's all supply and demand.

P.S. I do feel great driving a car that only hand full of people have at this time

I agree. Not to slam anyone, but if you lease, it is best to keep it under 3 years. Paying $60k for 4 years to rent a $77k car is not ideal for me especially when the car will be worth $30-$40k at lease end. With a little down, the finance payment for 5 years would be the same as the 4 year lease.

Just got a deal on the loaded LS460 SWB... $71,900 but it includes the stupid $2800 rear DVD option. Theoretically, that puts me about $2200 under MSRP had I opted to not go with the DVD entertainment package. What do you guys think?

Second thing... need help to choose color now...

1. Smoky Granite (dark grey)/Black Leather
or
2. Mercury Metallic (silver)/Grey Leather

Which one would you guys choose?
