Default Oct. 20 Intro - Sept. 15 We Learn All Prices & Options

These are the firm dates I got from my dealer today.

I had heard before about Oct. 20 being the intro date but didn't know that on Sept. 15 the dealers would have "ALL info" including car and option prices. We get the "Whole Works" on Sept. 15, he said!

Just wondering, though .. does anyone know when 430 production will end and the 460 "build date" will start?

Dealer also gave me a small 460 brochure. Not the BIG color one but it covered the 460, 460L & 600hl. Shows side by side pics. Hard to tell the difference externally. I've decided now, though, I'm definitely getting the L. (What the heck, it's only money.)

Believe me, it's easy for many here to tell the difference externally

Yeah, that's a good choice, you can get more good stuff included in the L version & I think the car looks better.

It was easy for me to tell the difference until the latest batch of reviews came out, maybe it's the way the pics were shot.

But anyhow, the L version is going to be more luxurious.

October 20 here we come!

Lexus is saying they expect 30% sales to be L version but I think it could be much higher.

Yeah, kinda like the IS 350 vs IS 250, they underestimated the market demand for the upscale models. Lexus' top-of-the-line models are more attractive than they think, or say they think!

and i hope they do sell more L than non-L. the L is more of a status and exclusive choice, having them more will bring up lexus as a whole. just look at mb and bmw

I just got an order guide for the LS460 from my local Lexus dealer, & it says 50/50 (%) for the short & long version.

I think if the short wheelbase outsells the long it will only be supply related. The short wheelbase needs to be optioned out to get to the base 460l as far as goodies, and american buyers like space goodies and value.Mercedes does not offer an swb version in America, and I think that lexus will eventually do the same with the ls in a few generations.

there used to be a sticky here, it looked like a dealer letter to a customer that explained a summary of all option packages with pricing, and I think it said LWB is special order only. I also cant imagine them producing these normally when a very small % of LS buyers would actually purchase it, hence special ordering

i showed that sheet from the stick to my lexus dealer, and they said lexus has said nothing about it, and thats purely speculative. they are expecting a 9 or 10% increase on the price, with a base price of 58,500-62,000 for the LS 460 and around 6-8k more for an LS 460 L. The 600hL they are expecting around 75,000 or 85,000 base, just as motor trend reported. also one of the reviews also suggested 58k as a base price.

i remember it says that the top of the line ls460l, that's with the RSES, are special order only. normal ls460l aren't special order, and it would be completely stupid for lexus to make it so
