IIRC, at present no LS 430 gets illuminated scuff plates, but the SC gets them standard, and the IS (RX?) offer them.

And this picture shows that probably the LS 460 L standard models will not have them as well. Perhaps as part of an option package? I also don't seem them glowing on the LS 600h L pics I've seen, but it's possible the dark color of the shots/car may have made viewing them difficult (although that sounds counterintuitive).

LOL, the pics have done that to me already! Fortunately I can look away from the pics, I imagine the actual site of the car suppresses coherent thought and one becomes like a kid in a candy store!

The Truffle Mica LS460 we saw a few months ago did not have illuminated door sills. I did talk to the Lexus Product Planner and asked why it was absent. She couldn't give me details at the time, but it was definitely something I mentioned when the camera crew for the internal video interview was made. It would nice to be standard across the board considering the ES and RX have it available.

It's standard across the board on the RX, but it's only available on Luxury Package versions of the IS.

Thx for the clarification, the ES offers it as an option I assume, based on the pics...

I hope they include passenger side memory for the front seat too...

I think there will be insignificant difference in tire or mechanical wear between automatic or manual parallel parking. You'll have to turn the steering wheel all the way anyways, especially with smaller spaces.
just like andrew said, don't do it. you should try to get the car roll very slowly when you turn the wheels al lthe way, otherwise you are putting a lot of stress on the suspension. i pretty much never ever turn my steering wheels when the car is not moving

so this one must be about the same or more!

but it is so worth it, now the question is, 460L or the 600HL?
93k? they got seriously ripped off, that's all i can say. ls430 UL (even 2006) msrp is only 74k, added tax and fees that's only about 82k OTD. paying 11k more that's just outrages.

No, it's a gas strut hood prop.

car is beautiful, but i would rather have the 06 LS 5spoke wheels on this car rather than those alloy 10-spoke wheels, looks really cheap and small,,seriously the best wheels that lexus have produced i believe is either the RX's 18 or the GS 430's 18" second is the 04+ LS 5-spoke 18 in graphite, but these are just hidious for such a luxourious luxo cruiser

The LS460L shown in NY Auto Show has the same wheels as this LS460 shown below in Japan, which I like better on the car than the one shown in the pic s above, so not sure which one will come standard with the LS460 & LS460L here, but the 19" on the LS600hL looks the best among the three. Of course none of the 3 stock wheels we have seen so far will satisfy many of the picky members we have here . . .

My feeling toward the wheels was enhanced when I found out about the curve that has been engineered into them, a nod in some ways toward the original LS 1989 wheels:

From this angle, the LS460 looks like a new Camry, especially with the rear tail light protruding out. I like the LS430 the best.

Yea, thats my only beef. It has the same corner tail light design. Even the bumper line is practically the same.

But besides that there is no comparison.

well if you think about it, all lexus have horizontal slats except the gs (and the new is). very weird. my sc430 i took off teh emblem and it's just like the jp grille. too bad on the ls460 it doesn't seem like you can take off the lexus emblem anymore leaving only horizontal slats
