I'll ask my contact at Toyota who is a historian for the company. I also have access to the Toyota vintage museum down here in Torrance.

This combination will not be available. Talking with the Lexus Product Planner that was with us during our special preview of the LS460 a few months back here in SoCal, they said it was not a color combination that would accent the New LS' interior correctly.

Here is a link to the special preview Club Lexus had of the 2007 LS:

SGM is about as dark in person as Flint Mica. The real difference between the two colors are the hues of the gray color.

That's just my impression, I' ve seen both colors in person, but maybe it's the lighting, I haven't seen the two side by side though.

Yeah, looking at the two colors in direct sunlight like the California sun is different than looking at the same colors under overcast skies of the Pacific Northwest.

Default So what do you think?

So what do you think, the salesman just told me that Flint Mica was available and it is not?

Or did he say Flint Mica because there will be something similiar?

Your opinions please!!

I think the salesman say Flint Mica because there will be something similar.
The two paints are pretty close so he/she may be a little confused too.
Note that Lexus have different silver paints( & others) for different models too, but a "layman" will just call all of them silver just by lookin at them.

OK, I have two new paint codes, as they are shared with the 2007 IS...
Obsidian - 212
Black Sapphire - 8U0

Apparently Obsidian is supposed to be the blackest black that Toyota has ever produced.

Default LS460 Colors

According to the Lexus Preliminry product info, the exterior colors are only 8 and not 10 as in the color charts in this forum.

I have ordered mine in Obsidian- which is black (supposed to be the deepest black from Toyota).

Does any body know if Obsidian is a metallic black or a non-metallic black. My dealer couldn't help me.

Here is the chart of color for the US-Spec LS460/LS460L from 2007-. If you see an error please post it here and I will correct the page and graphic ASAP. You can upload a photo of your car by clicking on the graphic, then clicking on the appropriate camera icon next to your color.

If you need me to update the chart please post your model year (or production date), color code and a description or photo of your car. For now this is for US-Spec cars only, I will add other countries in the future.
Bottom line .. according to the new 460 brochure I got today you should delete:

Heirloom Pearl and Opaline Pearl,

and add: Starfire Pearl. (There are 10 exterior colors and 4 interior colors.)

We have the LS460 available in Glacier Frost Mica up here, not sure how well it will look on the car, doesn't seem a good match to me . . .
