There is no way that the LS600h will have a 6.0 V8 plus hybrid motors. It's most likely the 4.6 V8 plus hybrid motors.

GS450h = 3.5 V6 + hybrid motors

RX400h = 3.3 V6 + hybrid motors

That's definitely incorrect.
Lexus always name their hybrid according to it's power equivalent to a gasoline engine. Hence RX400h is a 3.3 litre V6 mated to hybrid motor, with performance ~= a 4.0 litre gasoline engine, & GS450h with 3.5 litre V6 with hybrid , with performance ~= a 4.5 litre gasoline engine. There's nothing misleading about that.

other people is right, lexus always name their hybrids according to power, not the engine size. i agree though, this could be a bit misleading. but what else can lexus do. if they put in a v6 hybrid but call it the gs350h, people will jus think it's a slow v6. but the performance could be far superior. lexus has to justify it one way or the other

Why not call the 300zx Twin turbo a 500zx instead? It has the performance of a 1990 5 liter or more! come on now..

The difference is the general population understand turbo means more power, OTOH, they usually associate hybrids only with fuel economy, whereas the Lexus hybrids actually have BOTH higher power AND better fuel economy, I think it's appropiate for them to emphasize that. Since hybrids are totally different from turbos, they do not need to follow how they name turbo cars.

Well despite the fact 15 years ago, Nissan never would have even thought of the idea up til today.

Motor Trent mag is reporting that the next V12 LSS (as they call it) will get a new 8-SPEED tranny to overcome the Mercedes 7G-Tronic.

Remember where you heard it first.

Hopefully Motor Trend did get this from some other source, so that we now have more than one source that affirm the coming of this new tranny.

So this LSS stands for Lexus Super Shifter or what?

So, another mention of an 8 speed tranny, I wonder whether they get that info from that Japanese article posted earlier or their own independent source . . .
