Default 1990 LS400 for sale

Guys,
Eventhough it hurts to do this, I have to sell my 90 LS. I am trying this forum first because I know advertising it in the paper will only attract those who could care less about the work done / money spent on it.
here are the specs and details.

1990 LS 400
125K Miles, burgundy exterior, light beige interior

Factory options included :
Phone, Air suspension, Height control, Nakamichi Audio.
After market options : DEI remote start with trunk/door lock/unlock w/alarm. (original factory alarm and options are still intact and 100percent functional with the key. I installed this for the remote start option only). ($350)

Family car since brand new. All records available and service done only at one lexus dealer in NJ since new. was bought from them as well.
Work Done so far : (I've included the prices that I paid the dealer for the repairs. as mentioned earlier all paper work is available for the next owner if needed)
A/C fan, clutch, compressor, hoses have been changed 5K miles ago. At this point nothing is left to be changed for the A/C system and works perfect. ($3500)
All the needles in the cluster have been replaced, since they kept going out through the life of the car. All needles have been replaced within the last year. ($1200)
Power steering pump has been replaced 5K miles ago. ($1050)
All 4 callipers were installed , factory new, along with brake pads / callipers 500 miles ago. ($1400)
Fan betl, timing belt, and water pump changed 3K miles ago ($1750)
Differential service done ($300)
60K , 90K, and 120K service done from the dealer.
Asking price is 12K which is negotiable.
You can contact me via email or post reply here with your contact and I will email you.
The car is in NJ where I live.

Could it be it is hard to find somebody to buy a 1-gen 13-years old car for $12K?

Unfortunetaley 12K is a tad bit on the high side for a 1990 LS, even with the performed maintenace on it.

Good Luck on the sale though.

I agree. It's asking for high dollars. then again I've searched the ads here locally in NJ and that's what the going asking price is. I will go the traditional route and place the ad in the paper. once I have someone interested then I'll lower it depending upon the situaiton.

If you wait till end of August(when new generation of LS430 is released), your car is going to be even less desireable. It will be 5 generations old. Edmunds and KBB are re-adjusting their prices when new model is released.

You definitely have a point there as well.
what do you suggest a fair asking price would be for the car given the state of new jersey ?

In that condition - $8K

Dealer will give you maybe $5K on trade in for reference. More likely $4-4.5.

Check edmunds.com and kbb.com

Yes, on a dealer trade in possibly.
I just saw a posting at the local lex dealer for a 91 LS with no air susp/nakamichi has 145K miles and is advertised for 12.5K
Now we know they traded it in for a lot less but they'll def. manage to sell if for around 11K.
hence giving me hope that I can too
