We are correct.
If that website says they're different, then its not right.

Hi,

Thank you for your offers.

I did some more research, front springs have different part numbers while rear springs have the same part numbers. I wonder what the difference is between 97 and 98 front springs.

front spring
1997 4813150070
1998 4813150100
http://lexus.sewellparts.com/oem-cat...S400-1997.html
http://lexus.sewellparts.com/oem-cat...S400-1998.html

rear spring
1997 4823150120
1998 4823150120
http://lexus.sewellparts.com/oem-cat...S400-1997.html
http://lexus.sewellparts.com/oem-cat...S400-1998.html

looking at front shock absorbers
1997 4851059106
1998 4851059106

front strut mount (SUSPENSION SUPPORT ASSEMBLY)
1997 4868050090
1998 4868050100

It looks like the shocks are the same but the mounts are not.

I believe the mounting points are the same since aftermarket struts specify 95-00. The only significant difference might be the front spring rates since I read somewhere 98+ has 10% more roll stiffness without sacrificing ride quality.

BTW, I will do more research to find out exactly that is the difference between those part numbers.

Have you been convinved that the 95-97 is the same yet?
Because I just found out that the new springs I just put on were originally bought for a 98-00 not mine which is a 95. And the fit perfectly and feel perfect

I have my entire stock strut assembly. thats stock springs, shocks, mounts, insulators, and bumpers.
Everything but the springs have 40K on them.
I asume the springs are original and have 180K
but they are in perfect condition.

Let me kno what you need

Hi Spencer, can you send me a hi-res picture of your complete strut assemblies?
Did you replace the struts, mounts, insulators and bumpers 40k ago so you know that for sure?
Thanks

BTW, I'm convinced 95 and 98 have the same mounting points, only diff might be in the spring rate but it doesn't matter to me because I drive the car super easy, don't need to extra roll stiffness.

mounting points are the same and for all practical purposes 95-97 and 98-00 have interchangeable spring/shock assemblies.
