Bought this 2 years ago from classifieds (Car Buyer's market). Was a newbie to lexus at the time and didn't realize that the Nakamichi is not compatible to replace the Pioneer head unit system. Never installed , Make me any reasonable offer over $100.00 and It's most likely sold. Never installed, have no use for it.

I had a SC400 with the Nakimichi and really liked it. I have now purchased a low mileage LS400 Gen1 wich has the pioneer cassette head unit.

I understand these units are not interchangeable. Are wiring factory harnesses just for the Nakimichi unobtainable, or are they integrated in the factory harness. I would like to have a Nakimichi, so as not to damage the dash.

Any other alternatives? I have a 12 disc Sony changer, RF unit. Is this a problem to install?

Just not happy with the limited sound range of the Pioneer unit after being spoiled with the Nakamichi. Will a speaker upgrade help this, in particualr the bass?

As far as I know...it's not even worth the trouble of trying to find a harness to convert to the Nakamichi from Pioneer setup. The $$$ would be incredibly outrageous and I think you would have to get almost everything from the dealership....good luck.
