Default Yaw Rate Sensor

Can anyone shed some light on where the Yaw Rate Sensor is located on my 2005 LS430?

Is this something serviceable from home or is it a dealer only device?
The VSC light on the dash is on and the Lexus Dealer said they found the error code for the "Yaw Rate Sensor" during a vehicle health inspection.
Is this a Lexus only part and how many hundreds of dollars is this going to cost?

Thanks for any help

Bob

Here is the location of the sensor...

What error code did you get? It should be one or more of the following U0121/94, U0123/62, U0124/95, U0126/63 or any of the DTC below:

Is this the sensor that also downshifts the transmission when you are going down a hill and hit the brakes?

Hi Trader
Thanks for responding to my issue.
Unfortunately the Lexus dealer did not provide the code only a written description stating the Yaw Rate Sensor needed to be replaced.

I've tried two different scanners on my car and they do not show any codes.
Thanks for the diagram, I'll check the electrical connection to the sensor.
The VSc light is on and so is the Traction Off light.

I tried the procedure connecting Ts to CG on connector DLC3 with no change.

Thanks

Bob

The Yaw rate sensor measures side-to-side (the rate you steer the direction of your vehicle) movement of the vehicle. The up-and-down movement is measured with the Pitch rate sensor.

Would anyone have the Lexus instructions to get at and replace the Yaw Rate Sensor?

Thank you!

The sensor is located inside the center console. Take a look at the post below for instructions to get inside the console...

Interesting I was just in there to replace the shift indicator light last week.
Now to find a yaw rate sensor I can afford.

Thank you for the info,

Thank you for the info,
Maybe it's just unplugged or something from when you went in the console for the lightbulb repair...

Wish it was that simple, it's been inoperable since I purchased the vehicle last week.

I am going to have a look at the connector now that I know where it's located.

Thanks for the comment

I can find two (2) possible part numbers poking around the internet but can't nail it down to one I can trust.
I see some for $300 and others for $500.

Does anyone know for sure if this P/N is correct for a 2005 LS430 Yaw Rate Sensor?
P/N 8918360020

Anyone have the Lexus Part Number for a "Yaw Rate Sensor"? (2005 LS430)
I was hoping to try a used one from ebay rather than spend $500 on a shot.
Need a part number to do that.

Thank you
