Default Rear vip tables

What's up every one. I just picked up some used rear tables out of a jaguar xj8 at pick and pull. 15 bucks for both lol.
Any suggestions on refinishing them due to cracking and mounting them

Nice find, good price

Is the plastic of the panels cracked or just the clear finish? If it's the finish only, wet sand and spray with clear coat or spray or brush on a polyurethane

As for mounting, remove the back panels from the seats and lay out the table brackets for marking holes, drill marked holes through panels and reinforce backside of panels with metal, plastic, aluminum stock. Preferably something at least the width of a popsicle stick and long enough to cover the 2 holes on table brackets. You can use washers and nuts only if you choose, but a piece of stock would provide better support

Unfortunately ClubLexus blocks persons from uploading pictures when utilizing a vpn. I will have to upload pics of removing seat backs later

Regards

This could make for an interesting thread... That's the one option I'm surprised Lexus didn't offer.....

How to remove LS430 back panels from driver and passenger seats .....

*Tools required - cross tip screwdriver
*Recommended - magnetize screw driver prior to installing screws as they are not easily accessible by hand. To magnetize screw driver, take a magnet and hold driver against magnet at halfway point and pull the driver across the magnet until tip passes completely across magnet. Perform this task 10-15 times and the driver will now be permanently magnetized. To demagnetize reverse procedure. Speaker magnet used in example as shown in picture below

Seat back panel removal -
Steps....
1) Pull outward on left and right side lower plastic trim, then pull cloth away to access cross tip screw
2) Remove left and right side screws ( Note angle of screw driver )
3) Once screws are removed, slide panel downwards if needed as the top of panel is secured by clips as shown in picture below. My panel fell downward on its own once screws were removed

Installation - reverse procedures

Do post pictures, the addition of the tables is ingenious...
If you're not comfortable refinishing the defective coating, check locally with detailers, auto painters, etc. If you can't find a decent price, ship the defective table to me along with a prepaid return shipping label and I'll attempt to restore it for you at no cost ' of course '

Anxious to see the end result of your project !
