This is what I bought. Lifetime warranty and they're still working great.

I replaced both trunk and hood struts this year with strongarm replacement struts. Pretty easy repair - apprx 30-40 minute job with minimal tools. Everyone should check their hood struts if you still have factory struts. Weak hood struts on the LS430 can be dangerous. I hung a light weight plastic shop led light on my hood and the hood slammed down 2 minutes later from fully raised position - would have seriously injuried anyone who had head, arms, fingers in the way. Came down so fast there was zero time to react.

The hood can look propped up securely but just a slight lowering on weak struts can cause the LS hood to slam down unexpectedly with bone breaking force. No joke folks - test your hood struts - raise the hood and then lower it just an inch or two, or hang a shop light from it and see if the strut easily supports the weight. If it doesn't, replace the struts.
