Default Replaced Control Module 8824050151

I recently purchased a 2005 LS430 that has the message "Check PCS System" and red warning light on. I was told by the dealer that the Control Module 8824050151 was the problem. After replacing the module I still have the error message. Do I need to take it to the dealer for them to reinitialize it?

Thanks!

The "Check PCS System" is displayed when one of the Diagnostic Trouble Codes listed on the attached list is logged. Did your dealer share with you which DTC they retrieved that helped them decide to replace the ECU? If you're getting the same DTC as before, then there may not be anything wrong with your ECU to start with!

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately they didn't give me any codes they retrieved. Would they still be stored? Can I retrieve them through the OBDII port?
Thanks

As long as the error screen shows up on dash, the code will be stored.

Yes, you can read the code via any OBD2 connector.

Your standard code reader will not read Toyota specific info. ABS, PCS. Air suspension, etc. Just regular OBD2 codes.

My code reader showed no codes. Since its a PCS message also, looks like I need to get someone that has a code reader that reads Toyota specific codes.

Once you retrieve the DTC, refer to the attached pages from the LS430 repair manual for troubleshooting procedures. Post the DTC here if you need help - there are many very helpful and knowledgeable people on this forum that are ready and willing to lend a hand...

Thank you so much for the help and great information. My brother has a shop and they just purchased a new scanner that we're going to use on it Friday.

I have Toyota Techstream. The OEM dealer diagnosis software. If you are in the Atlanta area I can run a diagnostic for you as well. Feel free to PM me if this helps. I live near downtown and my office is just south of the city.

Thank you very much for the offer. I live an hour north of Atlanta and may take you up on your offer. I'll know Friday if my brothers new scanner from Mac Tool will do the job or not. Again, thank you for the offering.
