How much should a decent used LS 430 cost?
#50
Bought mine 1 year ago Memorial Day Weekend. 2003 non UL with 68k original and paid $16,800, about $300 over book. It was a color combo I wanted, and it felt good. He had this and a 2004 on the lot. I drove both. The 2004 just felt a little "loose" and "beaten" to me. My 2003 was babied, and I had the carfax.....16k miles in the first 5yrs, and was sold certified in 2008!!
I DID discover some cheap body painting 3 weeks after I bought it, but likely the dealership lot guys scraping a pole. Still, 2 mechanics have verified the guts look great, and I will say it drives tight, almost like new at 82k now.
As cars get older like this, NADA and Kelley are guides, not the law. Pay a little more for a good example. Avoid "Bobz Great Ridez" at the corner. Stick to private parties and big name conglomerates who have a lot to lose from a bad rap.
Ignore Edmunds; they are insanely low.
