I have an aftermarket remote start on my 2004 LS and it has a feature where i can turn the "key" off but have the car keep running till i get out and shut it off from the remote. I run into an issue at night with the auto headlamps not shutting off because the car thinks im still inside since the door isn't opened and shut after the i shut it off by remote. id like to add a relay that would cut the headlight switch when the car shuts off so the lights would shut off as soon as the car does.

any other ideas for fixes would be appreciated as well

Wow man thanks! any idea which thing on here corresponds to the actual "****" on the end of the stalk? im guessing "Combination Switch"?

I do believe you are going to need more schematic drawings, perhaps the interior/exterior lighting drawings since the door switch is linked to the sensor that controls the auto shutoff of the headlights.
Next time I'm at my buds place I will download the drawings for the 04-06 and post them, unless someone else chimes in and posts them.
