Replaced shifter chrome trim and lower grey indicator trim
Not a big deal....just posting for anyone who might want to do the same.....
I replaced the chrome trim piece that goes around my shifter. I also replaced the grey insert that shows what gear you are in. Since I was going to dismantle this area of the console I also replaced the little wood door on my storage trey........
See my detailed post on another thread titled.....crap..what was it titiled? Looking to replace shift boot trim how to? I think that was it....lots of pics and details......here I will just leave a couple pics....easy project.....I recommend

Check out my other thread...its still on the home page......more details there....but to answer your question......
chrome trim was expensive...dont know why......like 50 dollars
Grey insert was cheap...should have been more.......35 dollars
and I picked up new wood drawer lid on ebay cheap 19 dollars
The shift ***** are all over Ebay.....a lot of aftermarket that look similar......the real thing is pricey un less u find a good used one.

to answer a couple questions......the ash trey conversion ......my car came with the storage trey so Im not sure if u can sort of remove the ash try part and keep the box or not. Everything can be found via ebay.....or even in the 4 sale portion of this site. Maybe u can find someone who is parting out an LS
As for the shifter ****.........heck ya.....I think that after market **** looks great. Matches the interior theme and adds a little zip. How much was it? I have seen the stock ***** available on Ebay as well.......

Thanks Tom. But I've already placed the order with Sewell only to have it cancelled. Same with other vendors. They show it but don't stock it and then when you place order, the next day it gets cancelled and a refund issued.

The shift **** was $100 without shipping. For merchant fees and EMS freight from japan to Australia it was an additional $40.
I was a bit worried about the color not quite matching but it really does match well. The fact that it does not sit directly against another piece of original woodgrain helps it blend a little.
Yes the 460 and 600 ***** work on the 430.

Less than a year ago, I posted about the accessory storage box, and many here posted saying it was too costly to add it. I suspected even then that many others simply went out quietly, bought it and installed it. I turned my Lexus parts manager on to one as well. Sorry you weren't able to get one.
