Trans/diff fluid change based on time?
Hey guys, I have 28k on a 2003 ls430 that I picked up about 6 months ago. I am considering doing those fluid changes just based on the age of the vehicle. Obviously it has sat it's fair share in the last 12 yrs, do fluids age or break down?

they do but you could debate whether the degree of breakdown in that usage pattern is material.
If it were me, I"d replace the fluids because both are so easy and economical to do.

Agree - based on age on a 2003, I'd do the following: drain and fill on AT, drain and fill 2-3 times on PS reservoir, flush and fill on brake fluid, drain and fill on diff fluid. If its long life coolant I'd inspect to see if it looks good and nice cherry clear color and maybe wait a year or two.
