Default Parking sensory question

Are these standard on a 2005 LS? The car has nav but no radar cruise if that helps any. There is also a parking assist button but it doesn't seem to do anything.

The parking sonar sensors should be there if your 2005 LS has a parking assist button.

Visually, you should find 6 sensors on the front bumper, and 4 on the rear bumper.

With the parking assist button on, try to pull your car up close (say, 12 inches) to a wall to see if you hear the buzzer. If not, you may have a blown fuse, or possibly this feature was disabled via C-Best.

dont believe they are standard, looking at my original window sticker. My ML package comes with the Intuitive Parking Assist. Not sure why you would have the button for it tho.

That parking assist button is to turn the system on or off. If you switch it off, it won't beep anymore.

What's the difference?

Never heard of such.

I thought 04-06 all had parking sensors. Weird stuff.

My car has everything that's pictured in post #2. When the sensors are on shouldn't an emblem be lit on the instrument panel that looks like the one on the button? I know that's the case with the other Lexus vehicles. Anyone have an idea on the fuse number/location?

The perimeter will not show unless you're really close to something. Then it will beep and you will see it in your dash.

There is also an option you can activate from the nav screen that makes the perimeter show up on the screen so you know how close you really are.
It has been discussed not very long ago, maybe a week back. Check it out.

The "Intuitive Parking Assist" feature was included in the Premium package (which is included in all the higher packages (Modern Luxury, Custom Luxury, and Ultra Luxury). Therefore, only the Base model did not have the sonar sensors. The Base model was only rarely (if ever) imported into the US market.

Makes sense that I haven't seen one.

Why would there be a base version that is stripped out/ it's a Lexus.
It makes sense to have it in Japan because the car is listed as a Toyota..

Between off and turning on, there should be a cycling up and system check sound/buzzer when activated.

I would guess that it is a price/value tradeoff. The Premium package was relatively low cost compared with the base car ($56,325 in 2005), and provided some popular features. Dealers probably did not want to order the Base model.
PM ($1390) Premium Package
+ Intuitive Parking Assist with Sonar distance sensors front and rear
+ Front climate-comfort seats with heat/cool control and ventilated seat
+ Heated rear seats

Hi, I just bought a set of after market parking sensor for the rear. I plug them in and the car give me a parking sensor fault for the rear. I drove up and close to a wall and the front set still tested find. Is there a reset or something for the car to recognize the new set in the rear? What is C-Best?

Please take a look Post #2 at the link below for more detail on replacement sensors.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...nstalling.html

The LS430 runs diagnostics on the sensors, and if any of the sensors is outside of the 8-12 kilo-ohm range, you will get a fault warning.

I keep my parking sensor on all the time, but it only seems to work when I am going through a drive-through window, lol.

Yes, the parking sensors are operational only in the following drive-through-like conditions... So be sure to keep these conditions in mind when you test the system. In other words, if have have your vehicle in "P", the sonar sensors will not work.
