Was in Houghton, Mi skiing and went up with a Michelin employee who does testing in the tundra up from South Carolina. Houghton gets like 250 inches a year.
While admitting to being biased on the chair he liked the X Ice 3 better than the Alpine snows, and better than the WS-60 by Blizzack. I asked him what I should run when my MXv4 get run down and I have the X Ice 3's for winter, he likes the Pilot Super Sport and with the 30k warrantee(he felt was pretty good in its class) if ya ran em sensibly you woulfd get more than 30k out of them. I guess it is a high end tire on high end cars.

When asked about other tire brands he liked Bridgestone but few others and felt Michelin had such a solid lineup where other company's had a couple of standouts only. He kind of yawned when I mentioned the MXv4 and did not know if others would go the Premier A/s tread groove route.
