'04 Lexus Brake Light
I'm trying to figure out how to fix what I can only describe as the upper left trunk lid mounted brake light. It's circled in yellow in the next picture:
After removing the brake light, I can get to the backup light bulb, circled in green in the next picture, but there's no sign of a bulb for the upper brake light, which is under the covered area circled in yellow below:
Here's a closeup of the housing under which the brake light resides:
Is there even a bulb under there, or am I looking at having to replace the entire assembly with new?

There are multiple LEDs soldered onto a circuit board. The circuit board is sealed over with a red plastic lens cover. There are some companies that re-manufacture brake light assemblies, but at what cost? I suppose you can try to remove the red lens cover. If you're successful without destroying anything, then find the exact spec LEDs, and solder them in place, hoping it's not the circuit board that's fried. If it were me, I'd find a replacement inside left rear brake light assembly through a parts recycler and be done. Easy DIY to swap in a replacement assembly.
