Default NEED HELP: LCD Nav/Audio/Climate Screen!

Is there an aftermarket replacement for the navigation screen for my 2004 LS430 ? Want to replace it but the OEM is well over 6500.00, I have located a used screen but afraid of buying an eight year old screen.

I located a company called hi-tech electronics that will refurbish my touch screen for around 600 dollars! Has anyone used this company or similar companies they could recommend? I am in the process of upgrading my ride. will be asking for advise as I move along with the build. thanks all for any help before hand.

Are you absolutely sure your problem is the screen needs to be replaced? I would not change or have yours rebuilt until you're certain its the screen. How did you determine that the screen is faulty? What are the symptoms? (There is a bulb behind screen that could burn out, though I haven't had that experience.) If I needed a replacement screen, I'd probably find a recycled (used) one from a 2006 LS. You can replace it DIY.

The screen is hard to see, especially at the edges. The center of the screen is pretty clear, but as it gets closer to the edges it gets real dim, kind of brownish. I have seen screens on other vehicles and they are much clearer. What about the bulb replacement? Has anyone used that fix?

You could buy new OEM for a little more than the quote on refurbish:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-OEM-2001-2002-Lexus-LS430-Navigation-Display-Screen-86111-50110-/231409531061?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35e11538b5&vxp=mtr
Several used for a few hundred bucks as well. Easy DIY too.

Thanks Tom57. Will look into this new one you have listed. Sounds like a good deal.

Sorry for thread revival... Anybody changed their LCD?

Brand new replacement LCD unit sold on EBAY
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEXUS-LS430-...NT3lS-&vxp=mtr

I have no idea how complex and/or reliable this thing is. My display is getting really dim I can barely see it during bright days and I'm thinking of replacing the screen... $250 seems more reasonable than the $5000+ for the whole freakin module with controls sold by Lexus.
