At first, English is not my native language so I apologise in advance if I make some mistakes. Feel free to correct me
I am newbie on CL. I come from Poland
On April I bought Lexus LS430 President (on US market Ultra Luxury).
I am servicing it myself, so it is very probably tha I will have some questions. In my country Lexus is not so popular car as in the US.
At this moment I am installing rear camera connected to original navi touch screen.
I would like to install springs, which will auto open trunk lid. The next step will be system to open trunk by rate movements under rear bumper.
The last project is the bluetooth car kit connected to switches on the wheel and speaker on the left rear door- as the original cellular phone kit on the LS430. I would like to connect auto mute out to amplifier.

I'd skip the trunk mod and setup a driver door mod that opens the door with no hands.

Welcome to CL and lovely LS. So in Poland they say President Edition? Is that all across Europe?

Check out the FAQ thread and the search function works well. Just be specific when searching.

Either one of those self opening ideas you will have to design and fabricate yourself. I love my UL but not that much. The trunk would be nice.

The bluetooth is available from multiple companies.

In entire Europe without UK it use President name.

Yes, there are pnp kits, but I buy used Nokia CK-7W and adapted it to LS430 for a 15$ Works perfectly. In this link you can find more information.

I forgot to add that I mounted LPG installation to the car , so I can drive on petrol and LPG also.
LPG is an shortcut of Liquid petrol gas in a different way autogas.
Car consume about 15-20% LPG than the petrol, but 1 liter LPG costs about a half cost of petrol. Example when petrol price is about 1,48 USD, the LPG price is 0,74 USD. Car have the same power. I start the engine on petrol. After the engine reach about 20 Celsius degree then it switches to LPG.

It runs the same on both fuels - petrol and LPG. It was calibrated by an wide o2 sensor, so the AFR is the same on the open loop and wide open throttle. During normal driving in close loop AFR is steering by an ECU. Short and long terms are the same on both fuels. After mounting engine covers you couldn`t see LPG installation.

These trunks are auto closing. In other words, when you shut it gently, a motor closes it the rest of the way. I think putting stronger opening springs on the trunk struts will make the closing motor work too hard.

No so. The weight of the trunk lid in the near closed position has almost completely overcome any force the supports are able to supply in the upward direction. The closure motor has very little work to do to rotate the closure clasp.

I think there is no possibility to adds springs which will auto open trunk. I added two Steinel springs with max force about 700N but without effect. I can find stronger springs in this size. I think there is no simple way to make this modification.

Meanwhile car gets new wheels and winter tires. Old wheels will be used with winter tires and new one will be used with summer tires.

I have choosen Toyo Proxes S953 for winter. In summer I use Toyo Proxes T1 Sport.




New wheels: Orobica Line from Italy.
The old one are german autec.

Both- orobica and autec has- R17x8JJ ET35.

Ive never even seen that LPG fuel... do you think it would let the motor run as smooth as it does on gasoline? I'm just thinking about maintenance.
