Hi all. Getting ready to replace my air suspension with OEM sport springs and shocks on my 04 UL. How do you remove the air lines from the shocks without the SST? If not possible, does anyone have the part number of the Lexus SST for this job? I have searched high and low and cannot find it. I would like to order one, or beg, borrow or steal if possible.

I found it somewhere for about $35 but cant remember where.

Some have used very small screwdrivers to reach in and release the thingy that holds the tube in.

I just cut my lines when I converted to mechanical as I would never need them again, and saved

the money.

Others have done the same.

Thanks Alan. Exactly what I was looking for. I want to keep my air lines intact in the odd chance that I want to go back to original air. I will try to track down the tool.

Please make a thread about how the car feels after the swap. The sports rear sway bar and sport bushings are also worth doing. Helps the rear feel more planted. Remember, don't remove the height sensors.

I may also go with the rear sport sway bar. I hope that this change will help my car be more stable on the freeway. It is pretty mushy and wanders quite a bit at speed. My brother has the same year car but non-UL and his is solid as a rock on the freeway. I constantly have to fight mine, especially in any windy conditions or on grooved pavement. All front end parts have been inspected and are good. I have had it aligned at 3 shops (two of which were Lexus dealerships) and no help with the handling. Plus, at over 100k on the odometer I suspect the shocks are about gone anyway.

There are bushing on the air-shocks that wear out as well.

The rear sway bar and bushings helps with lateral motion at highway speeds. The UL drives better in sport mode when it is windy. The UL is definitely the softer suspension in normal mode then the others offered. Honestly, going from a worn out suspension to a brand new one is not exactly a good comparison. Also, I have noticed that even over-inflating the tires by 2 or 5 lbs makes a big difference in the way she handles. The car really does handle better when running 32 - 34 psi vs 35 - 37.
