Default Console box repair

I'm referring to the small storage box just above the seat HVAV control buttons. I think it is P/N 55432E in the diagram below. The box is supposed to open when you gently press the door Evidently, someone has pressed to door with too much pressure and it no longer opens. The door is now a little depressed. Is there anyway to repair the mechanism (pressure sensitive) that opens this small console? I didn't want to take the time to remove this box unless there is someway to repair it.

Yes, mine does the same thing occasionally because I have an iPod and SL2Vi cable stuffed in there. Sometimes the cable gets moved out of place and forcing it closed sometimes jams the mechanism in the closed or open position.

I just recently got mine stuck open, and after seeing your post, I decided to fix it just now and take a pic. It happens every few months, so I have left all the screws and bolts undone, so it only takes me less than 5 minutes to un-stick it each time.

Here is how you fix it: Pop your gearshift override cover with a small taped flathead, use it to push the override button and move the shifter down all the way. Using your taped flathead, remove the panel with the seat heater and disconnect the harness. Remove the 3 screws (left, center, right). Pull the assembly out slightly, disconnect the 3 harnesses on the suspension/height/ECT buttons. Pull the assembly out all the way and it will look like my picture below. The red box I've highlighted is the spring-loaded switch that you need to wiggle while pushing the tray in and out. Just play with it and you'll figure out how to un-stick the mechanism. Reassemble and you're done!

Stan, many thanks. I'll give it a try.
