No, not really. The Crown Majesta has it. Just the SC and GS.

The 3UZ-FE, is a 4.3 L (4,292 cc or 261.9 cu in) version built in Japan. Bore is 91 mm (3.6 in) [1] and stroke is 82.5 mm (3.25 in). Output is 216 to 224 kW (290 to 300 hp) at 5600 rpm with 441 N·m (325 lb·ft) of torque at 3400 rpm. It has an aluminum engine block and aluminum DOHC cylinder heads. It uses SEFI fuel injection, has 4 valves per cylinder with VVT-i. In 2003, the engine was linked to a six-speed automatic in applications with improved fuel efficiency.[1]

Local Toyota Dealer in SoCal quoted $1800 at my last oil change (TB + WP). Breakdown of price was not included, so I don't know if thermostat and other fluids (recommended at the time, but not included: PS, brake, transmission) was included in that quote.

Only really needed is T belt, pump optional but prolly yes even if not leaking, all belts they take off put on new.

Rear dif, tranny, optional but again not real expensive. The tranny drain seems to have this stigma they charge ya more with lifetime fluid "complication" but I have had tranny service(unrecommended by some, not me at 90k) done for 120 to 250 bucks.

Rear diff is always like 50 bucks if all else running good yur OK unless real OCD. Do an alignment if tire wear is off(I check mine all the time) and yur not not sure if over/under inflation has caused wear. Alignments hold like a pauper on a 100 dollar bill.

Mileage in city driving is compromised but really they are like any Toyota Oh What A Feeling Cheap To Keep. You don't have to overthink service change fluids and run good gas, belts, tires, brakes enjoy.

Just trying to get an idea of the fair price for this service..

I see the LS430 Timing Belt & Water Pump Kit (with seals), on discount for club members, at Sewell for around $420.

About how many hours of labor does it take professionals to do this TB + WP replacement?

It should take two to three hours. My mechanic changed my timing belt, water pump, and spark plugs in just over two hours. He owned a few SC400's and LS400's so it was easy to him. He charged me $200 for it.

I talked to one of the techs at Lexus and he said he could do it in an hour or so.

I told the service advisor I had the kit in my trunk, my mechanic was going to install it for $700, and if they were interested in matching the price, I'd be down to do it right then and there. The service advisor said he'd have the tech check out the parts while they did my steering wheel.

I chilled out at the dealer for 30 minutes or so and the service advisor came back and said the parts looked great and got me an ES350 to drive over the weekend. It was a great experience except for the Es350, which had way worse NVH performance than our LS430s.
Thanks for sharing this kit with us... Real good deal

For anyone to Google the kit mentioned above. Has anyone else tried this kit? or do you think you're just significantly better off to buy the OEM stuff?

I used the AISIN TKT021 from Rock Auto $168.99 plus shipping. It's my understanding that the AISIN TKT021 is the OEM kit from other areas in Club Lexus.

I had no issues with the kit, parts coming off were identical to those going on.

I did have to go to the dealer for the large idler that is not included in any kit I have found, part # 16630-50011, $332. I did my second timing belt at 183K and this idler pulley was not far from failure.

My local Toyota Dealer had this online service coupon...

TIMING BELT REPLACEMENT*

CRITICAL MAINTENANCE FOR YOUR VEHICLE INCLUDES REPLACEMENT OF TIMING BELT AND ALL NECESSARY LABOR.

4-cylinder: $199.95
6-cylinder: $299.95
8-cylinder: $429.95

So, I wonder how the Service Advisor there arrived at the $1800 quote for my TB+WP service...

Here's the catch with the $429 for the V8 timing belt service:
1st service advisor at the Toyota dealership I spoke to 2 weeks ago said: "It's a Lexus not a Toyota, so it'll be $70 more". He also said the price was for TB replacement (parts + labor) and 1 (?) gallon of Toyota LL coolant only.

The other service advisor on the day of service charged $429, and added partial labor rates for just about everything else:
0.5 hour for idler
0.5 hour for tensioner
1 hour for thermostat (what?!)...
You get the idea..

It's kinda difficult to make an argument like: this is a 5-hour job, and your labor rate is $100, so you should not be charging more than $500 for everything since I am supplying all the parts, at the dealerships. They use some kind of software that provides them a decimal labor-hours for every kind of replacement imaginable.

Default Toyota Mechanic Chicago 05 LS430 w 92k miles

Went on CL Chicago. Found a Toyota mechanic advertising TB water pump jobs at a good price. After reading this forum about the job and tons of emails with this guy I pulled the trigger . Wound up using all Toyota parts added a tune up w Toyota plugs and changing transmission fluid and serp belt as well as TB water pump and kit. $1300 bucks. Could not be happier. Schreiber Perfornance in Addison , illinois. Btw. The mechanic Tom. Stated that the trans fluid per Toyota is supposed to last 200k miles. My ls430 has 920000 miles and it was filthy.

Nice Caketoo. The Lexus / Aisin recommended transmission interval for everywhere else in the world besides the US is every 60k. Lexus US really screwed up on this part. I would do the drain and refill a few more times over the next 25k miles as you only get about 3 of the 11 quarts out and then every 60k after that.
