air filter change at 20k observations gas mileage
hi all just some observations with gas mileage, i usually change my air filter in the motor area every 15k, i started extending it to 20 k and had it changed yesterday. i was amazed at 20k how dirty it was, the quick observations after driving 200 miles is i am averaging over 1.5 mpg higher with the change and the car is performing better with throttle inputs, i was trying to cut down on maintanence costs and the air filter is not where you should cut, i am in warm climate without a lot of dust and it still was filthy even filled with bugs
change your filter between 12 and 15 and the 20$ cost will be paid back just in savings in gas
cheers

I do both the cabin and engine air filter twice a year. In the Spring and Fall. Probably a little more then necessary. You can order OEM Denso off Amazon for pretty cheap. If you have not already, clean the MAF and have the throttle body cleaned. This will also help improve performance and your overall MPG.
