02 ls430 p1305 code after cleaning spark plugs
Hey everyone. I recently took a look at my spark plugs and decided they needed cleaning. The ground electrodes were white, so I used a file to file off the white, and then replaced them back in the car. After turning on the car, I have a rough idle, engine code p1305, and a dashboard error that says VSC off. I know the code deals with ignition coil 2, but I'm not sure where to start. Engine was fine before this, Did i possibly damage the spark plug 2 while filing down the electrode?

Why would you replace only one...you damaged them all by filing them down.....heck they are good for 125000miles. I have found with normal scheduled maintainence these cars will last fora long time.

LPC,
No problem on what you did but these newer iridium's come pre-gapped and are ready to be install. Do all of them and then you are good for another 100K... I used to remove/clean the plugs on all my older collector cars but today I just replace them. Just take the new ones out of the box and install...

I would clear that codes, it will go off after a while driving. I had a bad sensor at one point, after replaced, it didn't go off till I put 50 miles or so on the car...
Sometimes yanking the battery for like 20 min will do it...
