Default Too Good to be True? $111 wheels?

Hello All,

Apologies for yet another thread on replacement wheels.

While looking for replacement wheels for my 2003 Chrome 7 spokes, came across these:
http://shop.wheelsrims.net/2003-lexu...y74159u20.html

$111 per wheel almost sounds too good to be true.... Any thoughts? Moving from Chrome to Silver due to Minnesota winters destroying my Chromes.

I've love to move to the newer contoured 6-spoke Hyper Silver wheels, but everything tells me it won't fit a 2003. (even though 17.5 x 7.5 is the same, even bolt pattern)

thanks in advance!

If they are unpopular and they are trying to liquidate I don't see why $111 is too good to be true. Its not exactly a highly sought after oem wheel, and might be replica. You can find oem wheels on craigslist/CL etc for cheaper than $111 a wheel.

Thanks for the quick reply-

I've looked on CL and found nothing local. Not too many RWD cars here.

Also searched all the old threads on this forum. A lot of different opinions on OEM versus replica.

Or look at Craigslist and search 5x114. Get a nice used set for about 1/2 that price. Something better looking as well.

Thanks Lavrishevo. Found a nice looking pair, but 7" and not 7.5", for an ES. I'll do some research, but I don't think they will fit.

Everything else from the CL search results entails me buying a chain steering wheel, coffee can exhaust, and a big windshield sticker printed with my last name.

You got to search for a little while. The best wheels come and go quickly.

Wow, $111 each ? I have the same rims on my 2001 but, the paint is chipping and the past owner curbed them a little (I picked up these rims they were in good shape because I had 16" ones before and my tires were all stabbed (long story)).

Too bad not in the budget this month but, that might be the option as I can pull off my new tires (under 700 miles on them) pop them on a set of 4 off these and my car will look new.

yeah, if the ES wheels were purchased, new tires would be a must. Not necessary, since my tires are pretty new. My own opinion is they don't look that great on a LS430.

keeping to a 17x7.5 allows same tires, and cost is minimized. As of now, the search has re-focused to finding OEM wheels that have been re-conditioned.

$111 seems like a very good price if you buy four and get free shipping. But are they really in stock?

I just spent $638 including $20/wheel shipping on a set of four OEM refurbished bottom-of-the line 17" 2011-14 Toyota Sienna LE wheels to use with snow tires after searching Craigslist and Toyota forums for a couple of months. A few online wheel suppliers advertised cheaper prices but none of them had the wheels in stock.

Buying wheels from a CL member is cost effective if local. I was going to buy a set of LS430 wheels from a CL member in Mass as few years ago until he found that the shipping cost to Kansas was going to be nearly $200 not including the cost of boxes he would have to buy. Commercial wheel supplier get far better shipping rates.

I have resolved not to bother with Craigslist again for wheels - tired of spending my time looking at junk and wheels that are different than advertised.
